SCRAP FX DESIGN TEAM - STEAMPUNK CANVAS

Hi There,
I am sharing my first project for the Scrap FX Design Team featuring
their wonderful steampunk themed products of chipboard shapes, stamps & stencils.

I chose this image from an older Graphic 45 paper pack (Steampunk Debutante).
Love the way he looks flying over this moon image
previously made using my Gell Press plate & Acrylic paints.

Firstly the canvas was primed with Black Gesso & then various blue acrylic paints
applied through the Intersections Stencil for the main background on the canvas & base paper.
Also randomly stamped with the Head Circuit Stamp and Distress oxide ink on the background & the paper layers.  Textured edges of papers made with Picket fence hole punch.

Main Sentiment was coloured using Brushed Pewter & Tarnished Brass Distress Stain
(& a tiny bit of blue paint) then an application of my favourite mixture of  'dirty' Clear UTEE.
This contains fragments of  Pewter, Black & Gold UTEE mixed with mostly Clear.
It bubbles up in a very random, textured way when applied over Distress Stain.

The UTEE can also be applied using an embossing dabber as I did under the moon and in various places around the edge of the project.  Love that texture!

The ChainSteampunk Assemblage & Cogs & Wheels were heat embossed
with the UTEE mixture over metallic distress stain & black gesso.

The Fractured Time pieces around the moon were coloured in the same way.

Looking forward to sharing some more steampunk projects with you later this month.
Check out the Scrap FX Blog for more fabulous steampunk themed projects....

Hope this inspires you to use a few gears on your projects & to lay down some embossed texture.

Cheers for now,

Deb Adams
