Sharing today these bright & colourful cards featuring the new Mixed Media Stamp sets,
& Die Cuts from Paper Rose.
I made the backgrounds of my cards using 6 x 6 " thick white cardstock as the base
to print on with my Gell Press Plate & Dina Wakley Acrylic Paints.
I started with a mix of light colours for the base then built up layers
with darker & contrasting colours.
I used the Mixed Media stamps to take colour off the plate before I pulled my print.
I added back the same stamps in contrasting colours randomly after pulling the initial print.
Repeating the same patterns in various ways adds depth & continuity.
Other textures applied with bubble wrap, mesh, & paint splatters.
Asemic marks & writing with white & black acrylic pens.
I like that the white pen soaked up some of the surrounding colours.
The busy backgrounds are completed by adding the bold focal points
of the
Scribble Hearts Die cuts & Cog Frame Die cuts
in Black, White & Kraft.
No sentiments required so they could be used for lots of occasions or purposes.
Trimmed & mounted on Black or Kraft 6 x 6" folded cards.
Some great videos already exist that will help explain this process.
I will link to some I really find helpful from Birgit Koopsen & Kate Crane
Hope you enjoy trying out some gelli printing & mixed media layering.
It is very addictive & fun.
Cheers DEB xx
