Hi There,
Today I have created some colourful Christmas Cards
featuring the Merry Christmas to you die from Paper Rose.
The techniques I have used for the die cut sentiments
& backgrounds have resulted in textured & glowing cards.
I had fun creating a lot of coloured backgrounds on Yupo Paper
with various Alcohol Inks including Gold Metallic.
I ran these backgrounds through my Big Shot with different embossing folders.
I lightly sanded the texture before rubbing Art Alchemy wax with my finger over the raised surface.
I die cut these bright backgrounds with the Merry Christmas to you die.
I applied these to a white similar embossed card base matching up the patterning.
The angled die cuts meant I had extra pieces of coloured card to frame the sentiment.
I matted this card on an Inky Antics Paper Background. The colours matched perfectly.
This technique could easily be reproduced using those fabulous papers,
or the Arty Love Collection. I am definitely going to try that out.
The 'to you' die was cut from coordinating papers for each card.
For this card I added Small Stitched Stars diecuts cut from gold cardstock.
Matted on a green & gold sprayed background from my stash.
Light rubbing of the gold wax to highlight the texture on the white embossed card.
Hope this gives you a few ideas for trying some textured backgrounds with your die cutting.
Also a bold diecut is the perfect way to use those really unusual or bright papers
that you are having difficulty adding to your projects.
Cheers, Deb Adams
