Happiest Birthday Cards

Hi There

Today I am sharing some Birthday cards to brighten your day.

Featuring Scrap FX stamps, stencils, embellishments & transparencies.

  

The background papers of all these cards were created using my gel press plate 

& Dina Wakley heavy body acrylic paint.

Stamps used were the Star Border, Circle Marks & Squared Stamp.

Stencils used were the Polygonic & Puddles.

All the Birthday Sentiments are from the Birthday Transparency sheet 

or the Happy Birthday Vellum sheet.

The clouds are heat embossed with Seafoam white powder from Ranger 

using the Clouds a Happy Stamp.

The flowers are fussy cut after using the Create a Unicorn Stencil & Distress oxide ink.

Embellishments on these cards are highlighted by heat embossing 

& with White Posca pen used for doodling.

Number crunch stamp white heat embossed used as an embellishment.

Balloon Words chipboard embellishments are given texture by heat embossing.

Trifold Country Themed Card

Hello,

Today I am sharing a country themed trifold card

that holds a small surprise inside.

The background is created using a really cool technique using the Gel Press plate 

with acrylic paints to make this weathered textured effect.

The different pages created are cut into strips & sewn together on the sewing machine 

so they resemble old wood planks with peeling paint.

This country style background really suits the fabulous Australiana series of dies from Paper Rose.

I have used the Bird on a Wire Fence die in dark kraft cardstock here.

Also featured on the cover and inside the card is the Lots of Birds die.

These simple silhouettes are very effective against the busy background.

Also featured is the Layered Happy Birthday dies alternating in white & kraft.

This kraft card folds out in a trifold fashion.

I decorated the inside with the same patched background as I love the look of it so much.

I included this beautiful sentiment heat embossed on a horizontal banner die 

& scribble hearts die cut from both white & kraft card.

I made a tag from the same background where you can write your message

or include money or a gift card.

I finished off the pages with a dotted stamped edge from the same stamp set 

in Vintage Photo Distress Oxide ink.

Woodgrain Cards

Hi There,

Today I am sharing some cards on a woodgrain background made from papers

 my sister in law recently brought over from the USA for me.

They feature beautiful die cut & water coloured flowers from Paper Rose.

The images were stamped & then heat embossed on watercolour paper 

with either  black or white embossing powder.

It is fun to do quite a few at a time so you can try out different colour schemes.

I coloured the images with either distress reinkers (which I have stored in a flat palette)

 or Twinkling H2O's from Luminarte & a waterbrush.

These beautiful rose designs are from the Ella's Garden Collection from Paper Rose.

The Rose Bouquet stamp comes with some beautiful sentiments & matching dies.

Here I simply used the Layered Congratulations die

in Pearl white card & vellum as a title for this card above.

These flowers above from the Poppies stamp set from Paper Rose 

look so real they could be growing from the Layered Hello die.

The Poppy stamp comes with a matching die set too.

This beautiful card combines the stamps & dies used on the previous cards

but in softer tones, coupled with a simple stitched ring die cut.

Gingham dreams

Hi There,

Today I am sharing a canvas featuring a favourite photo of my youngest son

Wrapped in red gingham on my best friends lap.

The background of this piece was inspired by the fantastic creations of Emma Williams.

It is hard to see in the photos but the background is made up of layers of distress paint & distress crayons in Antique Linen, Tumbled Glass, Weathered Wood & Broken China.

 Various red & heart washi tape & white gauze applied.
Embossed texture with a checkerboard stencil highlighted with distress crayon.

Random stamping with Watering Can Archival Ink & a mesh stamp.

The photo matted on a black tag & small Tim Holtz ephemera added.
Scrap FX embellishments painted with black gesso & highlighted with white & blue markers.
Splatters & Doodling around the other ephemera too.

These gorgeous Scrap FX chipboards

were used for the title & the feathers. 

The dreamcatcher is a black silhouette.

It has such fine detail!

Framed Hello

Hi There,

Today I am sharing a framed Art Work that I created featuring stamps & dies from Paper Rose.

This Art Work started with an acrylic paint gel printed background that I just adored.
A favourite image from nana's card collection was distressed & sewn on to the background.

The Paper Rose Stamps & dies give interest & texture to this piece & tie it all together.

The Hello die cut is attached to sit out from the background layer to add a shadow feature.

Love how the Ella's Garden Stamp heat embossed with Ranger Seafoam White Powder 

draws out the colours in the background. 

Of course this was done before applying all the layers.

Extra subtle texture in the background was made with the Vintage Letter 

randomly stamped with Sepia Archival ink.

Hints of gold highlights on the cogs are from Gold embossing paste
lightly applied to corrugated card before die cutting with the cog frame.

The Cog die cuts are used to frame images & tie the composition together.
I love how this piece looks framed in this vintage gold frame.
It is decorating the entrance at home.
