Vintage Girls Canvas

Hi There,
Today I am sharing a sweet Vintage Themed framed Canvas
featuring Scrap FX products.

This flat canvas is mounted in a distressed antique frame.
I highlighted the floral edges of the frame with Antique gold Art Alchemy wax.
The mounting board was covered with strips of blue gears & measurement washi tapes.

I applied grit texture paste & crackle texture paste through the beautiful
Flourish Panel stencil onto a 12 x 18 inch flat canvas. Covering most of the surface.
I also randomly stamped into the wet crackle paste with the Medallion Stamp.
Once dry I laid out my ephemera & took a photo before glueing anything in place.
This gives a reference for my original idea to refer back to later.

The focal point of my canvas is the lovely photo of these little girls
all dressed up in gorgeous gingham dresses to have their photo portrait.
I scanned a copy of the original onto thick matte photo paper.
Aged this with Distress Collage medium that dries with a crazed effect.
Similar treatment given to vintage Australian postcard,
then torn in two to mat the photo.
Scrap FX chipboards with vintage & Floral themes
are beautiful accompaniments.

were all colored with Finnabair Art Alchemy paints
in Opal Magic Blue Gold & Sparks Magical Pond.

Before applying the ephemera with matte gel medium
the background was watercoloured & then dry brushed
with blue & brown paints to highlight the beautiful textures.

Other elements from my stash helped to build up the layers.
Gauze, cotton thread & art stones were later dry brushed with the same paints.

Thanks for taking the time to read how I turned a vintage photo into a lovely home decor artwork
with beautiful products from Scrap FX & a little imagination!
Cheers for now
Deb Adams
